Jose Calderoni
Regional Director, Latin America

Mr. Calderoni manages projects for HCN in the Latin American region including business development, strategic alliances and programming. Jose lives in Mexico City and was previously responsible for Research and Development for the Latin American Institute for Educational Communications (ILCE), an international organization created by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO).He initiated several programs to modernize education at all levels, from kindergarten to post doctoral studies, including distance education using digital tools applied to radio, television, satellite, and computers. He was also a member of the board of the International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE).Originally an economist with an MBA from Michigan State University, he worked in international trade corporations and spent eleven years in Europe and Central America as a Diplomat; was a University Professor; and worked with the Mexican Government in the Ministries of Industry and Commerce, Foreign Relations, Labor and Social Prevention, Health, Education and Land Reform. Due to his universal interests and expertise he is respected as a consultant in human development, information technologies, international business and political issues.
