Alison has served Hispanic and Asian communities via media and education throughout her career. Alison attended college in Japan and received her BA from James Madison University, with concentrations in Business, Women’s Studies and Music. She has worked in radio for over 7 years, serving as General Manager at WXJM-FM, co-founding the Mid-Atlantic College Radio Conference (MACRoCk), and hosting a social justice and independent music show on Washington, DC’s community radio station. Alison lived in Japan for three years, where she developed curriculum, taught disadvantaged communities and at-risk youth, and represented foreign nationals at local government levels in matters of education and employment. Alison has worked with NGO’s in the countries of Japan, Cambodia, Vietnam and Costa Rica. She enjoys independent music, vegan cooking, international travel and outdoor adventure. |
