Affiliate & Media Relations Associate
Mario plays a critical role in the Affiliate and Media Relations Department. His focus is to grow, maintain, audit and evaluate HCN’s media affiliate networks in ways that ensure our educational and information content is integrated on broadcast, print and digital platforms to reach priority Hispanic audiences in top urban, mid-sized, rural, and emerging markets.
Mario has over 14 years of experience in accounting and operational management working in both private and public enterprises and bicultural / bilingual environments. Before joining HCN, he was with the Mexican State News Agency (Notimex) bureau in Washington, DC, where he was in charge of budgetary and management affairs of the agency’s offices in the US and Canada. It was here where Mario developed an interest in the crossroads of accounting, operations, evaluation and new technologies. With thousands of subscribers worldwide, Notimex is one of the most important Spanish-language news outlets in Latin America, and a key player in providing multimedia content for its diverse client base. Mario also worked as an auditor assistant for KPMG in Mexico City, a major company in the global accounting sector.
Mario has a BA in Accounting from the University of Sinaloa (Universidad Autonoma de Sinaloa), the most recognized academic institution in Latin America, as certified by The Trustforte Corporation, New York, NY.
Originally from Mexico, Mario has lived in the US for more than 14 years. He and his wife Gigi have two beautiful girls, Jimena and Camila, who love dancing and painting.
